The second of these strange guys I have found in one of my hometowns suburbs (see the first one here). It's located on a small piece of ground right between two blocks of flats. Looks like people use the place as a kind of vegetable garden. It's really for scaring birds!

This photograph was taken on the same day as 'Reed' and 'Trees & Water' at 'Rieselfelder Windel' nature reserve.

The history of this nature reserve is very special. For decades the area was used by a local manufacturer of textiles to dispose contaminated water. The reed that covers large parts of the fields served as a kind of filter. Over time, many rare animals and plants have colonized the habitat. Though it is not harmful to humans, animals and plants many of the industry residues are still in the ground. A proper cleaning would be very expensive, so the decision was made, to keep it as it is.

The wall is separating the reservation from a new build motorway.
